CECILIA WRETEMARK was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She studied dance and dance pedagogy at the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance, Munich. As a dancer she worked among others at the Stadttheater Osnabrück and Stadttheater St. Gallen under the direction of Marco Santi as well as at the Staatstheater Kassel under the direction of Johannes Wieland. There she danced for choreographers Felix Landerer, Anton Lachky and Helder Seabra, among others, as well as in drama productions by Jonas Knecht.
Since 2005, she has formed a choreographer duo together with Jasmin Hauck whose versatile works can be seen in commissioned choreographies for theaters and festivals. Since 2013 they have been working closely with director Alexander Nerlich at the Staatstheater Mainz, among others. Most recently, their choreographies were seen for the productions L'incoronazione di Poppea at the Konzert und Theater St. Gallen, Der Sandmann at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt, and Hexenjagd at the Staatstheater Mainz.
In 2015 she founded the dance company House of Pain - Physical Dance Theatre. The project has since realized full-length dance productions as well as short pieces and has already been awarded several funding prizes.
CECILIA WRETEMARK wurde in Stockholm, Schweden geboren. Sie studierte Tanz und Tanzpädagogik an der Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance, München. Als Tänzerin arbeitete sie u.a. am Stadttheater Osnabrück und Stadttheater St. Gallen unter der Leitung von Marco Santi sowie am Staatstheater Kassel unter der Leitung von Johannes Wieland. Dort tanzte sie u.a. für die Choreografen Felix Landerer, Anton Lachky und Helder Seabra sowie in Schauspielproduktionen von Jonas Knecht.
Seit 2005 bildet sie zusammen mit Jasmin Hauck ein Choreografen-Duo dessen vielseitigen Arbeiten i. n Auftragschoreografien für Theater und Festivals zu sehen sind. Seit 2013 arbeiten sie eng zusammen mit der Regisseur Alexander Nerlich am u.a. Staatstheater Mainz. Zuletzt waren ihre Choreographien für die Produktionen L’incoronazione di Poppea am Konzert und Theater St. Gallen, Der Sandmann am Stadttheater Ingolstadt sowie Hexenjagd am Staatstheater Mainz zu sehen.
2015 gründete sie die Tanzkompanie House of Pain - Physical Dance Theatre. Das Projekt realisiert seither abendfüllende Tanzproduktionen sowie Kurzstücke und ist bereits mit mehreren Förderpreisen ausgezeichnet worden
